Roadblocks on the Path to a Flash Player

A major glaring omission from SoundSprout artist pages has been the lack of a Flash player for sampling songs.  To be frank, the method I've provided for listening to songs totally stinks.  It's time to fix it.

The Wimpy Button seems perfect, but I ran into a problem when I tested it out.  It seems that the player cannot handle URLs that have a plus sign in then.  In a URL, a plus sign typically takes the place of a space.  In this case, the Amazon S3 security token we need to use to protect songs often includes an actual plus sign.  The plus sign gets converted to a space by the Wimpy Button player, then S3 denies access to the file because the security token is invalid.

After a few hours of trying to get Wimpy Button to understand plus signs, I emailed their tech support.  And now I wait.  If they don't come through I'll be back to the drawing board.

But no worries!  I WILL get a Flash player up and running soon.
